Join Our Drama Program at Berkeley Unified School District!
Our engaging drama program is available exclusively to students enrolled at Oxford, John Muir, Cragmont, or Washington Elementary. Designed to inspire self-expression, collaboration, and confidence, our classes explore the fundamentals of acting through a variety of fun and educational drama games.
Students will develop essential acting skills such as projection, articulation, dramatic movement, and improvisation. Each session begins with theater games and transitions into skits, monologues, and scene work. Along the way, they’ll learn how to effectively use their voice, understand stage language, make strong character choices, work as an ensemble, move confidently on stage, and handle props and costumes.
Our program not only entertains but also teaches important social skills, creativity, and self-expression, ensuring that every student grows both on stage and off. While no previous experience is required, we do ask for parental support, especially as students learn their parts at home.
Communication is key, so please let us know in advance if your child will be absent, allowing us to adjust rehearsals as needed. We aim to keep communications minimal, but it's important for parents to stay up-to-date with any class announcements.
